27-year-old British artist Keira Rathbone uses the legendary writing tool, the typewriter, for a different purpose—to create art. Unable to write anything with the typewriter she had bought during her university years with the hope of writing, the artist later began using it for drawing. When her initial works turned out to be quite promising, she decided to focus entirely on this field.

London-based Keira Rathbone has developed a unique drawing technique that began somewhat accidentally, using a manual typewriter as a drawing tool for over 15 years. Rathbone creates images from life using a typewriter and states that she sees each keystroke as a texture or shape to build complete drawings.With performances she presents sometimes on the streets and sometimes at events, she leaves audiences in awe.
