27-year-old British artist Keira Rathbone uses the legendary writing tool, the typewriter, for a different purpose\u2014to create art. Unable to write anything with the typewriter she had bought during her university years with the hope of writing, the artist later began using it for drawing. When her initial works turned out to be quite promising, she decided to focus entirely on this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

London-based Keira Rathbone has developed a unique drawing technique that began somewhat accidentally, using a manual typewriter as a drawing tool for over 15 years. Rathbone creates images from life using a typewriter and states that she sees each keystroke as a texture or shape to build complete drawings.\n\nWith performances she presents sometimes on the streets and sometimes at events, she leaves audiences in awe. Rathbone often combines her work with audiovisual performances, including video projection, sound effects, and collaborations with other artists in the UK and abroad.\n\nThis art form, which first emerged in the 1940s, is still practiced today by Keira Rathbone\u2014here are some of her works\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
